The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for all aspects of the revenue cycle department including health information management, grants, billing and accounting. This includes managing the functions and employees to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. The Director will oversee the billing and revenue cycle functions to expedite reimbursement. This position also manages the oversight and maintenance of the electronic health record. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide expertise as a key member of the Senior Leadership team to include participation in development and execution of the strategic plan and annual budgeting process
  2. Present, communicate and facilitate understanding of current and projected financials to the Board of Directors
  3. Direct Queen of Peace Center's financial resources
  4. Supervise the preparation and posting of required journal entries to accurately reflect revenue, payments and adjustments for financial statements
  5. Manage and develop a team of exempt employees to provide subject matter guidance, expertise and optimize teamwork
  6. Collaborate closely with the Chief Program Officer to provide education and training for clinical and medical staff on coding and documentation requirements and to implement process changes to mitigate claim rejections
  7. Collaborate closely with the Archdiocese Accounting and Finance team to manage cash flow and forecasting
  8. Ensure efficient use and optimization of the EHR system utilizing all available tools, modules and reports; work directly with the internal IT Department and external EHR vendor to resolve system issues
  9. Manage payer contracts to ensure accurate reimbursement, billing and projection of annual spending; work across the organization to streamline the records and billing processes and assist in development of new contracts as needed
  10. Participate in development for new grant and other funding opportunities; oversee and manage all grant billing to federal, state and private resources
  11. Provide financial analysis and data for all funding sources and contracts
  12. Ensure all billing functions are compliant with state and federal regulations; oversee all auditing (internal and external) with direct responsibility to develop and implement corrective action plans if necessary

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  2. At least five years' progressive experience in accounting/finance in a moderately complex business environment
  3. Experience with healthcare revenue cycle
  4. Management experience of professionals to include recruitment, retention, development, performance management, and work optimization
  5. Excellent financial analysis skills
  6. Comfortable with medical based technology and experience selecting overseeing IT software hardware installations; managing relationships with IT vendors
  7. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with Missouri CIMOR system
  2. Experience working in a not-for-profit organization
